No one really thinks of rolls as a dish to bring to Thanksgiving Dinner. But they are in fact an important part of the meal. And homemade rolls are delicious with a little butter melted on them. This is probably one of the easiest dishes to transport. Make the rolls ahead of time and freeze. Brush them with a bit of butter and wrap them in foil twenty minutes before you hit the road and warm them at 350 degrees in your oven.  Wrap the foil wrapped buns in a nice heavy towel.  Place them in a box along with your serving basket. They will still be deliciously warm when you arrive for Thanks giving dinner.

Casseroles such as sweet potatoes or green bean casseroles can be transported in a serving dish with a lid.  Place the hot dish on a towel twice as large as the dish and tie or rubber band opposite corners of the towel together over the top of the lid. Keep the lid nice and tight. Wrap extra towels around the casserole dish to keep it hot. Place the dish in a box or container. If the dish has room to move around pad it with more towels to keep the dish immovable. Your casserole will arrive in one piece and be ready to serve.

Don’t forget to bring a nice topping such as cool whip to garnish your desserts with.  Another delicious dessert dish that is easy to take along is the Pumpkin Roll. You can make this dessert days or weeks ahead of time, and freeze it. Then when the big day comes, take it out of the freezer, put it in a carry all with your serving dish.
