What to Write in a thank you Card

From 3arf

Thank you cards can say so much or just simply thank you, but for the more creative person this can be a challenge. Either you could have a go at writing verses for a card company or you could make up your own in a blank card which may just say Thank You on the front of the card.

Whilst thinking about what to write inside the card, just as important is the layout of the inside of the card. Think carefully about where you are going to write, how much space you will need and the size of your handwriting and with what implement you will be writing with. You might want to use a ruler and draw fine pencil lines on which you will be able to write easily, neatly and without the writing ending up on a slope. Planning ahead will help prevent making avoidable mistakes.

You could try learning calligraphy, the art of beautiful handwriting, before turning to the subject of what to write inside your Thank You card. This will look so much more professional, as the first thing a person sees when they open a card is the way the words or verses are laid out and if the layout is pleasing to the eye then the content will surely be as good.

Ask yourself what type of person is the card you are writing for. Are they young, old, middle aged or a child? Are they male or female? A poem could be a good way of saying thank you, it may rhyme or it may not. Is the person sentimental or practical? This might influence what you want to say. Do you know the person well?

Sincere Thanks may be all that is needed or you might want to express your gratitude more deeply depending on what you are saying thank you for. A short to the point message could be - Thank You for helping me out of a tight spot, you saved the day! This could be used for an impromptu favour that was done for you for which you were really grateful.

Maybe the person likes longer verses and enjoys something a little more meaningful, let your creative side come alive and impress them at the same time! Perhaps you would like to send a Thank You card to say how much you appreciate someone, maybe a Mum or Dad, another family member or friend or lover. Practice writing when you have a spare moment, you may be able to compose some beautiful verses that express your thanks right from the heart. Thanking someone close to you by way of a card can say so much, perhaps words that would never be spoken.

Thank you for being you is a lovely thing to write as this says so much, maybe more!
