What a Bride should look for in a Bridal Salon

From 3arf

Finding the perfect wedding gown is one of the most important missions that every bride sets out to complete from the moment she gets engaged. What most brides fail to realize is that the bridal salon they choose to shop at has every bit as much to do with finding the perfect gown as it does to do with anything else. All bridal salons are not created equal. In terms of finding the perfect wedding gown, choosing the right bridal salon might be the difference between Mission Accomplished and Mission Impossible.

The right bridal salon will have a fantastic selection of gowns of all different shapes and - most importantly - sizes. Sample gowns are tough for heavier brides since they don't fit properly which can make it tough to figure out what the dress will actually look like. A great bridal salon will have access to larger sample gowns so brides do not have to imagine what a dress they are thinking of spending a lot of money on will look like on them in the proper size. Bridal gowns are expensive and you can't expect every salon to have several options in terms of size, but having a couple of different options is helpful, especially for the bigger boned bride.

The bridal consultant also plays a huge role in your search for the perfect dress. You definitely want your bridal salon to have a bridal consultant that can devote their undivided attention to you during your appointment. You don't want to be chasing the consultant around the store. You don't necessarily want an overbearing consultant, but you want them to be available to you when you need them to be. A bridal salon where your consultant can turn their total attention to you is a must for every bride.

You also want a wide selection of price points at your bridal salon. You want to find the right dress but you don't want to have to take a second mortgage out on your house to get it. Choose a salon that can cater to lots of different price points so that you aren't locked in to a certain range. That having been said, you want to make sure that your desired price point falls somewhere in the range that the salon has available. Don't make the mistake of visiting a salon where the gowns start at $1,000 over your budget. That is flat out torture for both you and the bridal consultant.
