Things to be Thankful for
Thank you. Thank you. Being thankful puts us in a contented state of mind. There are many things we can be thankful for and as the saying goes, "Count your blessings". Once we start doing that, we are aware that we are doing fine. Issues that we have are put into perspective and we know we will find ways to make it alright.
We can be grateful for all the material possessions we have as that allows us to be comfortable in our home, sheltered from the storms of life. What we truly need to be aware is the people around us. we tend to take them for granted. I am truly aware that I tend to take my loved ones for granted and when I do so, I hurt them and also I hurt myself. I have deprived myself of a precious moment of being appreciative of who they are and of myself.
Let us be conscious that each moment of our lives is to live it with love and contentment. When we are able to be aware of being in a state of gratitude, we will find our lives worth while. Take time to enjoy a smile from a baby and be thankful that we can enjoy this moment. Thank our loved ones, friends and relatives for being in our lives by giving a smile, a phone call, a gift or an act of service.
When we are thankful for others' kindness, we are attracting more beautiful acts from others. These acts of kindness rendered by others makes our lives worth while. We can say nice words and do nice things but mostly what will be remembered is how we make the person feel good about the time spent with us.
Daily activities with all tasks scheduled can easily make us go through life without appreciating people we come in contact with. We need to take time to reflect and when we allow ourselves sometime to reflect what we have done each day, we will be more aware that we have neglected to thank someone who has gone out of their way to make us comfortable or see to our needs or wants.
Let us always be aware that we want to appreciate our loved ones for being in our lives. Let us not let a day passes us by without being thankful to our loved ones and for the blessings we have in our lives.
