Talent Affects Skills

From 3arf

There are many different paths that you can take to get ahead in your career path. Some people are hard workers, others know people in influential places and some are just born talented at what they do. It doesn't matter how you get ahead as long as you put yourself in the best position to succeed. However, let us take a look at how talent can get you to the top of the class.

Talent is the ability that you are given seemingly at birth to excel at something. You aren't really sure why you are good at it, but you are among the best at what you do. Talent alone won't make you the best, but having talent is the ideal situation to be in. You can teach a work ethic, you can teach people skills, but it is very hard to teach talent. The ability is either there or it isn't.

How does this affect your skills in the workplace? Chances are that you are going to be very successful with less effort and you will pick up on things easier. If you have a lot of talent when it comes to building things, you are probably going to be a good carpenter or engineer. Your career choices will probably be influenced by your talents and what skills you would then have because of your talent.

On another level, you can say that talent can diminish your skills. You might have the natural talent to do something, but you might not have the drive to become truly great at what you do. It might be easy to pass your woodcutting class, or to do well in college when your performances are graded based on potential and how well you understood a lesson. Being a professional means that you do a good job every time and that you overcome potential obstacles.

Assuming that you are willing to work, your skills can be enhanced by your talent. You might be able to convince people that mistakes that you have made are really just a genius doing what he has to do to succeed. You might be more productive at work and others will see you in a better light because of your talent. Those who have a track record of success will be seen as even more talented than they are because of that perception of greatness.

Your talent will affect your skills in many ways. It will direct you toward the career that will make you the most successful. Your talent will allow you to do more in less time because you will pick it up easier and more efficiently. Your talent can also be your downfall if you are not willing to accept that your job could be hard at times. However, if you are willing to combine talent with hard work, it can make you look like a genius in your field.
