Manpower Temp Agency
I never thought that I would ever have to get a job through a temp agency, but with the economy now a days that seems to be the only way to go. At the time when I first applied at Manpower, I was working another job but I needed more money. When I had first walked through the doors, I was not going there for my own needs. I was going there with a friend who needed a job. But since I was there I might as well see what they had to offer me as well. Since most temp agency are based by appointment, I had to set up an appointment. Luckily for me my appointment was on the same day, just at a later time. This made it easier for me to go home and make a copy of my most recent resume to bring back with me.
My first impression with the place was everyone was right to the point about if they would be able to find you a job. Also, by looking at your resume they were able to tell you how qualified you would be for a job through them. Since I've had a wide range of employment in the past with few gaps, they were definite on being able to find me something within the time I was looking to work. Even though the job they found me was just a temporary one with no chance of hire, it was better than nothing. The gentleman I worked with was very nice and helpful. He took me to a room with computers, so I could fill out all the necessary application forms. After that was conducted they did a mini orientation of what their temp office had to offer and what was expected of the new hires and where we were to report to.
The job I worked for was a warehouse style setting. It was full time and fit in with my other schedule that I had previous to applying. They worked very well with me and understood my needs. I made it to work on time and did what was expected of me. Even though I wished I could have gotten paid more. I worked for the company for a year and then I ended up going through a different temp agency afterwards because they weren't able to find me a job right away. After working with the new temp agency I realized how much nicer everyone was at Manpower. Every time I ever called Manpower there was always someone there to answer my questions and I never once was forwarded to someones voice mail. That just proves to me on how much better their customer service is and they want their former employees to come back or to refer others to their company.
Since I had fulfilled my year contract, I still did want to work for Manpower. Since there weren't able to find me a different job, if I wanted to work for the same place again I had to wait six months, which was understandable. So I waited the six months, but they contacted me back first because the employer at the company I temped for asked for me personally. I started back up with the company again, but I was only able to last for a month because the job I have now is full time and having two full time jobs just became too much. But this company is overall the best temp agency I have ever worked for and I have definitely told others about them. If you are looking for the best of the best when it comes to temp agency, I would highly recommend Manpower.
