Dating should Men or Women take the first Initiative – Women
Am I right or am I wrong? It is the new millenium is it? When it comes to dating, women should step up and start taking the initiative. Gone are the days of women being looked on as second-class citizens. A strong man is not longer supported by a strong woman. He is supported by a strong partner. Women of integrity stand beside their men, not behind them.
If we as a nation do not mind electing a woman president, should a woman have courage to ask a man out? I believe so. Aggressive women allow a man to be secure in his manhood. A weak woman will only gravitate to the man who can control her better. Present society is telling the chauvanistic species (men) that women can run their own companies, implement foreign policies and properly lead our ever-evolving nation.
Is it President Bush who's getting Syria, Lebanon and Egypt to discuss the Iraqi issue? No, it's Secretary of State, Condoleeza Rice who puts her own life at risk to travel into these hostile, Islamic countries. She talks to America's "enemies" as to find out what they wish for a democratic Iraq to do politically in the Middle East. Society says that if women can handle a global crisis (such as war), they can handle the confusing aspects of interpersonal relationships and/or dating.
Men can still do these things for chivalry without adversely affecting a woman's independence.
1) We can open doors because it is the polite thing to do.
2) We can treat our spouses as equals. Both parties should have input in a crisis, no matter how sensitive the issue.
3) We can help out with rent and bills if we're co-inhabitating with our opposite gender. In this era of ridiculous man-childs, too many guys are being parasites with their women. They believe women should financially take care of them. Allowing women to control parts of society is not being effeminate. It's respecting how our culture is modernizing day after day.
A real man does not let a woman take control of everything. Women love taking responsibilites. A real man lets his woman take the lead and offers his support when asked. He doesn't need to order dinner for her. But, he should be willing to confide in what kind of restaurant would best suit their date.
The world is changing. Women are becoming more confident and powerful. Men should welcome in this new era of equality and learn from it. We could only become better men when women become better themselves.
