Well respected companies share a passionate relationship with its customers and there are common traits that are readily visible.  Respected companies have courted their customers over the years and treat them as equal members in a loving business relationship.  They listen unlike most men, respond and anticipate their customers needs.  A cult following and secret society is formed among the customers and the company provides an outlet for them to relate.  Respected companies create an experience that transcends the purchase of a product.

Brand loyalty, high touch service, atmosphere and connectivity are just a few of the words that come to mind when you think of respected companies.  Customers follow them like they would their favorite rock star or sports team-its a generational affair.

Customers of well respect companies become zealots seeking to convert the non believers, in many instances they are just as knowledgeable about products and company affairs as the average sales person.  Well, respected companies are cut from the same cloth but designed different, their style endures through the ages increasing in value as time transpires.

Respected companies make the right bets and it pays off for shareholders customers and team members.  After firing Steve Jobs from the company he co-founded, Apple bet that he could turn it around and the were right.  Jobs bet on itunes and the  ipod after the toppling of the music industry and it paid off-catapulting them past Microsoft-making them the coolest company in the world.

Target stop following its competitors in the retail industry and started blazing their own trail making the beloved bulls eye the cream of the retail industry in the process.  Respected companies face the hard facts and then set out to create their own reality; they are not change resistors they are change agents.

Companies that customers respect are innovative in their product offerings, creating a passionate group of loyal followers-who care deeply about their brand. Respected companies become the benchmark in business.  The competitors of well respected companies purchase their products and respect their market dominance.  Starbucks creates an atmosphere for Dunkin Donuts and McDonalds employees to kick back and enjoy a latte while studying.

Well, respected companies share many common traits, innovation, leadership and brand loyalty.  Customers are connected to the brand and sure they may be upset if a company attempts to change their logo without first informing them, they may feel slighted, but they don’t ask for a divorce-they are committed to a long term relationship.
