Accessories for Winter Brides
A bride always wants to look absolutely perfect on her wedding day. Finding the right dress, shoes and veil are of utmost importance. However, at a winter wedding the weather really needs to be taken into consideration. That doesn’t mean a beautiful short sleeved wedding dress must be sacrificed for a less attractive long sleeved one. Instead, brides just need to find great winter wedding accessories to keep out the chill!
Bolero jackets are a great way for a bride to keep warm at her winter wedding. Because bolero jackets are really very short and only the sleeves are long, they don’t detract from the beauty of the wedding dress. Many varieties of bolero jackets for brides are available, so finding a style to match the dress shouldn’t be too difficult. They are also made from many different materials such as lace or even faux fur which means brides can easily choose based on the amount of warmth they think they will need.
Long gloves are a must as a winter wedding accessory for a bride, particularly one who really feels the cold. Because they are usually quite thin, they could even be worn beneath a bolero jacket if necessary. Of course, they may need to be removed when it comes to the exchanging of rings, but they can quickly be pulled on and off without much fuss.
Scarves or wraps may be suitable in some cases, depending on the dress style. Wedding scarves or wraps are usually quite long and can be wound around the shoulders and arms for extra warmth.
Capes or cloaks may be necessary if the weather becomes particularly bitter, Just like bolero jackets, wedding capes and cloaks come in many different materials, thicknesses and lengths. To give the bride an extra wintery look, faux fur capes and cloaks are available. If that seems like a bit too much though, there are many far less dramatic looks. Capes are generally shorter than cloaks but will protect the arms and shoulders from any biting coldness.
Cold toes are no laughing matter. Winter brides should choose their wedding shoes very carefully. Open toed sandals may look gorgeous but they aren’t very practical in winter, and wearing thick tights or socks could completely ruin the entire look. Closed toed shoes are the better choice and for brides who are getting married in an exceptionally cold location, there is always the option of bridal boots likethese!
Winter weddings are so beautiful, but it is as important for the bride to be warm and comfortable as it is for her to look fantastic. Being practical with accessories doesn’t have to mean being boring!
