How to use Snowflakes in a Winter Wedding Theme
Snowflakes are one of the most beautiful features of winter. With their amazingly intricate pattern, they are just perfect for decoration when used in the right ways. Fitting them into the best day of your life can be difficult, but when you do, they are just that perfect little thing to really bring out the winter theme in your wedding.
One great way of incorporating snowflakes is to use them as part of the centerpiece on the guests' tables. Small paper snowflakes all strung together dangling from the edges of the centerpiece gives it that little extra thing that makes the arrangement look a little more thought-out and classy. Even the littlest thing on your wedding day can make the biggest difference. Alternatively you can have them loose over the table in a "just snowed" appearance. For that, you could even use snowflake sequins from your local crafts store.
Another idea, is to have them dangling from the ceiling. Depending on the venue, if you are in a dance hall with a low roof then this could be ideal, alternatively, in a Church where reaching the ceiling is next to impossible, you can have them as loose chains on the walls for background decoration. If it's safe, hanging them from lights can also be a good idea, especially if you have slightly reflective paper snowflakes that will scatter light across the room to really catch people's eyes.
For Church weddings, paper snowflake chains would look amazing spread along the pews. Snowflake chains can also be pulled across the room, just higher than height level so when guests look upwards, its almost as if snowflakes are actually falling. The best thing about this, is that paper snowflakes are incredibly easy to make, so even on a budget wedding, they cost next to nothing and yet can have such a massive difference on the whole atmosphere.
Because snowflakes have such a beautiful design, it would be relatively easy to incorporate them into the bride or bridesmaid's hair, whether it be with clips or with glitter, they are simple enough to not look tacky but delicate enough to be appropriate at a wedding. This also means they can be used in jewelry or any other accessories you may want.
If you are having a custom-made wedding dress, instead of small lace panels, you could use small snowflakes to create a similar pattern. Snowflakes on shoes can also be a nice feature, and little crystal snowflakes are found easily at the local craft store if you want to add them yourself and really give it that unique touch.
Snowflakes are possibly the most precious thing found in winter, so for a winter-themed wedding they would be perfect! With the range of ideas here, and your own creativity, the addition of snowflakes can really make you winter wedding special!
