ALT-2 Employment
It is no secret that computers now do the jobs of tens of thousands of people that once were required by businesses to maintain the financial records and process the daily business transactions that take place within any kind of business. Did that happen to you? If so, you became redundant and your services were no longer required by your former employer.
Being unemployed, but still an excellent worker, you are hired to do the same kind of work for your new employer. Way back in your mind you know that eventually your new employer will purchase one or more computers that will replace you and you will have to again find another primary means of earning a living or eventually end up on the street, homeless with nothing to eat.
You do not want to starve to death or die from the exposure to the weather, nor do you want to become a victim of a criminal. You resolve to learn another skill and/or occupation that will not cause you to become redundant and unemployed ever again. If you are currently a bookkeeper you might decide to earn an accounting degree. It is also highly likely that you will learn how to use a computer that can easily do the job that you were hired to do those many years ago.
After being a member of the workforce for a number of years it is truly difficult to start over again at the bottom level of the new skill and/or occupation that you will learn and once again become a contributing member of the society in which you live. Then again, you have to learn a skill and/or profession that is in demand by employers. As luck would have it, people who are skilled users of computers and health care workers are in great demand by employers who have a real need for your contribution to their business.
To learn and obtain such a job is your key to financial security for as long as you are alive and well, or, again become a redundant employee. Being a wise person, you are determined not to again fall into such a situation. There are still a number of things that you can do that a computer cannot do. Therefore, it is your responsibility to learn such a skill and/or occupation the will ensure your continued employment right up to the time that you decide to retire from the workforce. Now is the best time to take control of your own destiny while you are still able to make such changes within your life.
