ALT-1 Easy to Make Easter Home Decor
When springtime comes around, thoughts often turn to Easter. As with any holiday, Easter is fun to decorate for. Of course, also as with any other holiday, Easter decor can get expensive fast. Fortunately for your budget, however, there are some simple ways to make home decor for Easter that are fun, festive, and cheap. Here are just a few of them.
- Colored Easter eggs
Who doesn't love coloring Easter eggs for the season. They can also add to your decor. Of course, these are a one day thing as you do not want to leave eggs out of the refrigerator for very long. If you want colored Easter eggs that will be a more permanent part of your decor, you can buy the plastic Easter eggs, and put them in a basket for decorating purposes. For an added touch, glue these into the basket along with some spring flowers and Easter grass.
- Washcloth bunnies
This is a fun little craft that you can do to put in your bathrooms during the season. Take a washcloth, preferably one with rounded corners, and lay it flat. Fold the washcloth in half diagonally, and roll it from the outside corner up to the fold. Once you have a nice long and tight roll, fold it in half, then fold it in half again. By the time you have done this, you have the general shape of the bunny. Tie a ribbon around it so that the corners of the washcloth create the bunny ears. If you like, you may add eyes from the craft store, or you can leave the washcloth as is so that it can be used later.
- Flowers
Flowers are a beautiful addition to any Easter decor, especially when they are in beautiful pastel colors that bring springtime to life. If you want to highlight the religious aspect of the season, you may make a floral arrangement in the shape of a cross. Otherwise, just arrange the flowers in a wreath or in a vase to highlight the season. If you like, you may add a few plastic Easter eggs to your arrangement, to really give you that full Easter feeling.
As far as other decor goes, you may add bunnies, cute little fluffy yellow chicks, ducklings, or even crosses and wreaths to your decor. In the end, you will have a beautiful Easter decor, and by making these things at home, you are also saving a great deal of money.
