Worst Reasons to get Married Worst Reasons to Marry

From 3arf

There used to be a time long ago when people would get married for the only reason they should: love. It was not uncommon to see a married couple still together after sixty years. Nowadays people are getting married like it is a fashion statement. Here today, gone tomorrow. Divorces are happening more frequently than ever. The reason for this is because people's reasons for getting married were not legitimate to begin with. Some of their reasons are down right ridiculous. The following are the five worst reasons to get married:1. Pregnancy: Though it can be a very noble reason for a man to marry a woman he impregnates, it is not a very smart one if this is the sole reason. If the pregnancy occurred from a one night stand or casual relationship things stand a chance of not working out between the two parents. In real life things may not work out like they did in the movie "Knocked up". The idea of attempting to have a baby in wedlock is honorable, but does not guarantee success.2. Fear: Sometimes a woman may fear growing old with no one, so she will enter a marriage with a loser for fear of being alone. These marriages often will not last more than a couple of years. The reason? L-O-S-E-R. There is an age old saying about being careful for what one wishes for. Spouses are included. When a girl scrapes the bottom of the barrel in haste, most of the time she will pull out waste. It is better to be with no one than to be with a person who lacks respect , morals, and common sense. Men also marry losers. Stupidity is never gender specific. The ladies tend to fear being old maids more than men.3. Spite: Believe or not there are some people in the world who have the audacity to get married out of spite. There was a case of a  couple in the U.S. who did such a thing. The two dated for almost half a decade until the guy got angry at the girl. He expressed his anger toward her by leaving her and marrying someone else very rapidly! He knew she wanted him to marry her so he did the one thing that would hurt her the most. Apparently, he was a very spiteful man. It seems the girl he left behind could also be a bit caustic because she too married someone else, partly to counter what he did! What's good for the goose right? It sure peeved her ex off! The result: Both marriages were complete disasters (one ended and one hangs on by a thread), both people are still peeved, and both people are still unhappy.4. Money: Everybody loves money. Money is pretty, money is fluffy, and money can buy stuff! The two things it can not buy though are happiness and love. One can get "lovin'" with money but not love. In a loveless marriage no one is happy. Financial stability is not a good reason to bind ties. Now if a person just happens to fall in love with a millionaire then the idea of marriage is fine. It should not be done solely for finances. Most money marriages end in divorce anyway because the one who got married for money does not really love the spouse, so he/she cheats.5. Residency: Marrying someone just so they can receive citizenship or some such is just silly and is frowned upon. There are still people who do it. It is not a legitimate reason to marry anyone. Individuals who marry someone just to to keep him/her in the country should be forced to move to the country the spouse came from, just for using marriage in such a way. The foreign spouse should get to stay in the U.S.There is only one right reason to marry someone and that is for love. Only people who are really in love and want to spend the rest of their lives with one person should do it. End of story.
