Ways to Surprise Dad on Fathers Day

From 3arf

When Father's Day rolls around each year, are you stumped on how to surprise him? There are some ideas you can try that just might end up making this Father's Day one he will truly appreciate.

• Breakfast In Bed

Prepare some of Dad's favorite breakfast foods, complete with coffee and juice. Bring it to him, along with the morning newspaper and let him relax and eat in bed. Oh, and by the way, you will need to pick up his dishes when he is done. Cleaning up is part of the breakfast-in-bed gesture.

• Tickets To A Game

The great thing about this surprise is that you can make sure to get Dad tickets to a game he will really enjoy. Of course, depending on the sport, you will probably need to take Dad out for lunch or dinner on Father's Day.

An idea for how to give Dad those great tickets: fold them into his newspaper, that way when he opens the paper to read it, they fall into his lap. Another idea is to leave them somewhere you know he will find them like by the coffeemaker or television remote. You can also put them in with an appropriate sports themed Father's Day card.

• His Chores Are Done

Whatever chores Dad does like mowing the lawn or taking out the trash, do it for him. Father's Day is his day to relax and be pampered. No matter what his chores are, make sure he does not have to do any of them. Note: some Dads can be a little picky about their mowing machine and how their lawn is mowed. You may have to let him supervise how well it gets done. It is Father's Day, humor him a little bit.

• Make His Favorite Meal

Show Dad how much he means to you by preparing his favorite meal. To go a step a further, you could bring it to him while he watches his favorite programs on TV. If Dad has a favorite dessert, you might want to fix that too. An alternative dessert is to make him a special Father's Day cake.

• Take Him Fishing

For the Dad that is a self proclaimed fisherman, make sure he has a great Father's Day, take him out to the best fishing spot. Spend the day talking and trying to catch the big one. Maybe you can help create the next story about the big one that got away.

Do not get stuck in a rut of giving Dad the same Father's Day gifts every year. Try something a littledifferentthis year, like breakfast in bed, mowing the lawn or taking him fishing.
