Top Graduation Songs 2010

From 3arf

At the end of this school year, you'd probably like to have a song to connect with the memories you'll have during graduation.  People know and love the traditionally popular "Graduation" song by Vitamin C, but that song is ten years old!  Off with the old, and on with the new!  Here are the top graduation songs for 2010.

"I Gotta Feeling" by the Black Eyed Peas.  This song is definitely catchy, and it's a perfect song for graduation because it's customary to have a great night, after having graduated.  The lyrics say, "I gotta feeling that tonight's gonna be a good night," and that is ultimately what you should be feeling on graduation day.  You've worked hard all year long, and you deserve to celebrate and feel proud of yourself; not only that, but you have the rest of your life to look forward to.

"All The Right Moves" by One Republic.  Lead singer of One Republic, Ryan Tedder, has explained the meaning behind this song.  This song is about "keeping up with the joneses," and how doing so is a total waste of time.  The effort to "keeping up with the Joneses" occurs when people care about their standard of living in relation to their peers.  Just like Tedder says, it is a waste of time to do so because life after graduation will not be filled with happiness if one's goals revolve around competing against one's peers.

"I See You" by Leona Lewis. This song is absolutely beautiful, and many people know about the song because it's off the Avatar soundtrack.  When watching the movie, you will notice what "I see you" means; and the lyrics to this song help to explain the meaning.  The lyrics say, "I see me in your eyes."  In other words, when saying "I see you," the characters are acknowledging each others real soul by the realization that we are all "one" with each other and the world.  This is a great graduation song because when stepping out into the real world, one should yearn to learn and appreciate the world in which we live in.  Everyone should care to try and make the world a better place.

"Billionaire" by Travie McCoy.  This is an awesome graduation song because you need to remember what's important-becoming a billionaire.  Just kidding...  Sorry Travie, but this is probably the worst song to listen to when considering meaningful graduation songs.

Rather than thinking of money or anything materialistic, try and be mindful when considering what's truly important in this life.  After graduating, you will be on the roller coaster of life.  Sometimes, you will fly high, feeling as if you're on top of the world.  At other times, you will have a gradual or sudden fall, and you'll feel mystified and a little lost.  This is life, and you must try and enjoy the journey as best as you possibly can.  With that said, the last song you should listen to is "Fight For This Love" by Cheryl Cole.

"Fight For This Love" is a new song, and it's absolutely awesome.  Better yet, the words within this song are words to live by, throughout the rest of your life.  The song begins by saying, "Too much of anything can make you sick; even the good can be a curse.  Makes it hard to know which road to go down.  Knowing too much can get you hurt."  Furthermore, the chorus states: "Anything that's worth having is sure enough worth fighting for.  Quitting's out of the question.  When it gets tough, gotta fight some more.  We gotta fight ... for this love."  With that said, remember to try and stay strong.  Work towards the goals that you have; but, try to remember what's most important in life: love.
