Graduation on a Budger
Late spring time is a wonderful time for seniors everywhere who are about to graduate. It is time to have a celebration for all of your hard work in school. But with other activities that come up in the spring, some people might not have the money to throw a huge expensive party. Fortunately, there are ways to have the graduation party you want without spending a fortune.
Invitations
If you get invitations specially made, these can be expensive. Instead, you can go to a local dollar store or party store and get a pack for a cheap price. You can also make your own using Microsoft Word and print them off and give them out to people. Another good way to invite people to your graduation party is to use Facebook or Twitter and create an event.
The Place
Renting out a place can be expensive. There are plenty of places to have your party for free and it will be just as fun. The backyard is a perfect place or a local park.
Decorations
For awesome decorations, utilize the local dollar store or party store for balloons, streamers, and other party decorations. They also have a great variety especially if you want a particular theme. You can even be creative and make your own decorations.
Entertainment
If you know a friend who has a band, ask them if they could play at your party. You can also compile a playlist on an MP3 player or tablet. You and your friends could also break out some CDs to party to!
Food
Drinks: Purchase liters of soda pop, cans, and serve punch. If you are graduating from college and want alcohol, make it a BYOB so that everyone has their favorite drink. Snacks: Ordering food can get expensive. This is where Sam’s Club will come in handy. They have a variety of things for parties and you get a lot more for your money. Also, you can suggest everyone bring their own favorite snacks so everyone gets what they want and his will greatly reduce the cost. You can even make it a cook out with hot dogs, hamburgers, and chips.
Other Tips
Have other friends who are graduating also? Get together with them and see if you can combine money and parties. This is a great idea so everyone can split the cost and still throw a great party.
Remember graduation is a time to celebrate the last four or five years of one’s accomplishments in school. It is a time to be surrounded by family and friends. Not everything has to be perfect; all that matters is you have an awesome time celebrating.
