The new 2011 Chevrolet Camaro
The highly anticipated 2011 Chevrolet Camaro should continue to impress auto enthusiasts as much as the 2010 model did. Production having been completed on June 7, 2010, look for the 2011 model to begin showing up on showroom floors sometime very soon. The body style of the 2011 will not change much from last year’s model, still paying homage to the classic Camaro. Although pricing information has yet to be released, look for prices to be somewhere similar to the 2010 Camaro.
Five styles of the 2011 Camaro will be available, with a convertible version expected to arrive at the end of the year. The LS and LT editions will sport a 3.6-liter, V-6 engine with 312 horsepower, either with a manual or automatic transmission. The SS versions of the Camaro will come equipped with a 6.2-liter, V-8 engine, and providing 400 to 426 horsepower depending on whether it has a manual or an automatic transmission, respectively. All versions of the 2011 Camaro took a step up in horsepower from the 2010 editions.
The 2011 Chevrolet Camaro will come with plenty of bells and whistles, many expected as standard on all most GM-made vehicles, while other features are to entice the sports car enthusiast. Standard features expected for the 2011 Camaro will include an anti-lock braking system, a traction control system, an antiskid system, and front-side and curtain-side airbags. A unique feature that was added to the 2011 versions is the Heads-Up-Display. This feature allows the driver to view on the windshield the speedometer, tachometer, and other displays normally contained in the dashboard. Other available additives to this sporty vehicle include a wireless cell phone link, a USB port, satellite radio, and remote control engine start.
Also, with General Motors fully recovered from the journey through financial doldrums, expect to see a much-rumored Camaro Z28 model in showrooms later this year as well. Solid information about this model is not yet available, though it is expected to cost more than the 2011 Camaro SS and contain a much more powerful V-8 engine under the hood. It is also believed that it will only be available as a manual transmission model.
So, for all of you Camaro fans, the 2011 model may be just the one for you. It is a beautiful looking vehicle with all the goodies a sports car lover could want. Make sure you have around $25,000 to $35,000 set aside so you can get every feature you want. Then, you too can be a part of the cool Camaro crowd.
