There is also the option of front or all wheel drive (AWD) for those more adventurous journeys.  Guided by the 5/6 manual, with automatic transmission available on the 1.7 VCDI AT (LT), these engines provide ample acceleration to speeds in excess of 100 mph while at the same time providingcombined fuel consumptionbetween 43.4 mpg (1.6 LS/LT) and 62.7 mpg (1.7 LT VCDI). Not only does this reduce the environmental impact of the Trax, enabling it to produce much lower CO2 emissions than many of its competitors, it also means less frequent fuel stops, which is a cost for the family owner in these times of high fuel prices.
