The best answer I can give for this problem is start observing the world around you and take some notes! This may seem like a bit of a crazy way to start earning some cash, and at first cash may not seem to flow in at a fast pace, but this seemingly slow start can lead to a big payoff. The recent economic downturn has left numerous people with the very real problem of trying to make ends meet. Many individuals are now facing working two jobs to make ends meet. Two jobs leaves very little free time for much else, and things that need to be done around the house may be falling to the waste side. This problem is now your solution.
Check around the neighborhood, are there dirty cars in driveways and grass growing over and above front windows? That is a great place to start. Offer your services either by going door to door, word of mouth, or printing inexpensive flyers and placing them in mailboxes. Consider yourself a jack of all trades, offer competitive prices for your extra set of hands. It takes a bit of muscle but weeding, mowing and washing are great ways to make some money when businesses are turning you away.
Outdoor labor not your cup of tea? Offer to babysit or clean some houses, as long as you do good work your clients will be more than happy to recommend you to others. Word of mouth can spread and quickly, the offers will be pouring in. If you have your own transportation even more options are available. You could offer rides to grocery stores, doctors appointments, and other errands for seniors in your area, and take children to activities during the day while their parents are at work. The options and the possibilities are endless. You need to focus on skills you have, and with a little innovation and salesmanship you can become the head and CEO of your own, recession proof business for this summer. So remember observe your surroundings, find a need, and supply a service, after all most of us could always use a helping hand.
