They use this information to determine what surveys you will be eligible to complete. Once this is done, you will be emailed with survey opportunities. If you complete surveys, you will be rewarded with points that translate into cash. In real terms, you usually make between $1.00 and $5.00 per survey. Over time, you can accumulate some extra spending money. However, they determine how many surveys are available. You will be unable to complete enough surveys to replace a even a single workday, most likely. The benefit is you acquire additional income. Using it and other sites can add up to a decent payout.
With the mechanics out of the way, I'd like to suggest you avoid Opinion Outpost. It is not a scam, and they will pay you. However, your survey eligibility will vary depending on your personal life. As a single male who doesn't buy worthless junk for a hobby, I wasn't eligible for many surveys. Regardless, the general survey eligibility is low anyway. They get as specific as possible because the more precise the data, the more useful it is to people using the service for business purposes.
Economically, you have to recognize that a person's talents play a role in their wage. Because most people can work in fast food, the jobs in the industry are usually low-paying. Of course, how much people dislike a job will drive up the salary. Garbage workers, for instance, are paid more because people are unwilling to do the work for less pay. Of course, unions are also influencing salary in sanitation and a variety of other industries, depending on location.
What the economics suggest is that your pay is going to be low. It doesn't require much talent to complete a survey. For instance, the average person would probably do poorly writing for additional income. However, just about anyone can do a survey. Because interest in surveys is high, they can get away with even lower payments. Most of the surveys you take will be boring, but it doesn't translate into you getting higher compensation. Half way through the survey, they find out you have never purchased a certain brand of grapes, and you get nothing.
Additionally, you may be unable to complete surveys at any hour. When I received surveys, I usually didn't complete them until I have had an opportunity to read my email and work on a computer. However, I still clicked the survey links within the same day. If I ended up satisfying the survey, I would complete it fully to be told "we have enough submissions at this time." So you get an email telling you the survey is open, you go the the site where it tells you the same thing, and you complete the survey. Then you aren't paid. I suspect they still use your results, too. I know they do pay, but I didn't bother using the site long enough to earn anything. I wasted a few hours of my time for nothing and quickly left the site. I even left my email open to see if completing the surveys asap helped me. It did not as they "had enough already." I disliked them so much I felt compelled to write this article, quite frankly.
If you love surveys asking simple questions for low pay, go check out Opinion Outpost. If you want variety in your online income, you can consider Opinion Outpost, I suppose. However, I can make more money writing for Helium, Bukisa, Associated Content, Triond, Demand Studios, or blogging. All of those let me write, which I enjoy, and they have more opportunities for earning income than I could take advantage of per day. It just makes no sense economically to bother with Opinion Outpost if you're capable of succeeding at online article writing. Even without marketing, many of those sites will provide more income than Opinion Outpost - and theyll certainly cause you a lot less of a headache.
