Motorcycle Rides
It's a bright, beautiful Saturday morning and you are just itching to ride. You're ready, the motorcycle is all shined and ready, even your spouse or significant other is ready! Now the debate is on: Where are you going to go? There? No. Here? No.
Just stop debating and get on and go. Fire the bike up and point it down the road. The destination really doesn't matter, it's the ride you want to enjoy. Besides, some of the best rides and memories have come from not really going anywhere. Just go.
Stick to lesser known two lanes or rural roads. This will give you an adventure in itself. If you see a sign for a town you've never been to, turn on that road. Maybe the town will have something interesting that you will want to stop and explore. Maybe it won't. Move on.
Wandering around the countryside looking at new sights can be very peaceful and calming. It's like taking a little mini vacation from responsibilities, clocks and ringing phones. It will rejuvenate you!
Have you ever been driving down a road and really wanted to stop and look at something, but you just didn't have the time? Forget all of that. You don't have a time to be anywhere. No meetings, no dinner time, and especially, no destination.
Don't worry about finding your way back home. Most gas stations sell maps, or are quite willing to help you out, by pointing you in the right direction. That's part of the adventure of a get-lost trip, you don't have to know exactly where you are to enjoy your day.
Besides, you might find a great little town, an old historical bridge, or a host of many other things you never knew were so close to you. You may even find a great little motorcycle shop that you'll want to commit to memory!
Be sure to pack a camera in your saddlebags, or you'll be wishing you had. While you are at it, pack a jacket too. Your exploring might go on for so long, that you will be surprised at how late in the day it is getting. Time to head for home already?
Don't worry, there are a lot more adventures waiting for you out there on the open roads. You just have to let the explorer in you seek them out. Just don't be afraid to get out there and ride, just because you can't think of a destination.
It's not about the destination, the time schedule or anything else. It's about the wind, the sun and the open road that stretches out in any direction you care to go. It will lead, all you have to do is follow.
The next time you get that itch to ride, don't waste time trying to think of a destination. Point that motorcycle on down the road, it'll go any direction you feel like! Being told to go get lost will never feel so good.
