Minivan Owner – uncool
A minivan driver provides its owner with an uncool appearance. Not every driver of a minivan is the same, however, the general stereotype associated with a minivan does not assist in providing this vehicle with a positive image. The minivan is a vehicle that is designed to be able to transport a large amount of people in a convenient manner. Nevertheless, it is not a vehicle that typically possesses a glamorous or desirable appeal to those purchasing a car for the first time, or the dream car of most individuals. The minivan serves a definite purpose. However, not all of the people that have minivans utilize them for such a purpose. Occasionally, a minivan driver will drive this vehicle carelessly, and allow it to become ruined. This in turn causes the car to have even less appeal. The minivan driver gives its owner an uncool image because minivans are typically not glamorous vehicles, they are cumbersome, and they are not economical.
The minivan owner has an uncool image because of the appearance of the minivan. Because of its large size and structure, the minivan is not a glamorous car. The car that an individual chooses to purchase represents their personality, as well as their desires. Most people want to appear unique and innovative. The rather structured and boring appearance of a minivan does not convey this intention. Even though not all minivans possess the exact same structure, they typically do not have an appearance that is appealing enough for an individual to desire such a vehicle. Some minivans are very boxy. This causes the car to seem overly rigid. Other minivans have more of a curved appearance, yet they still seem overly large and their size distracts from their potential advantages.
Another reason as to why a minivan owner is uncool results from the cumbersome nature of minivans. Vehicles are closely associated with speed and the ability to move on the road with a graceful or powerful appearance. Sports cars and SUV's typically personify these characteristics. Although minivans can reach the same speeds and dominate the road just as well as other vehicles, they do not represent the prime position within these categories.
Also, the minivan is not an economical vehicle to own. Some minivans have the potential to consume an extensive amount of gas. They also have the potential to contribute to air pollution. If an individual wants to possess an image of being respectful towards the environment, this is certainly not the type of car that they will choose to purchase.
Therefore, the minivan driver is stereotypically associated with an image that represents the desire to own a large, rigid vehicle that is difficult to manipulate, rather than an image that is associated with owning a beautiful vehicle, or a fast vehicle, or a powerful vehicle. The image of a minivan is typically boring. This causes the owner of the vehicle to have an uncool image as well.
