Making it Happen

From 3arf

It's hard for some of us to imagine doing anything else than what do.  It is our livelihood, a way to makes ends meet and what occupies a majority of out time.  Our jobs define us, give us meaning and tell people who we really are.  Society set standards by it and we are told from an early age about all the hard work it takes to get there.  But there are times when our "dream jobs" are just a vision and not a reality due to the daily grinds of life.  Do something about it.

Affording your dream job is only as hard as what you make it.  Anything in life can be obtained as long as you set goals and stay the course.  One of the first things that you are going to want to do is set those goals, but make them realistic.  Is there a time frame for when you want to start?  And if so, can you make it?  Be honest with yourself and all involved, if there is something that may get in the way, communication could the answer to getting it cleared.  Keep an open line of communication open at all times with all involved and be prepared to move fast when the time comes.

Are you sure this is what you really want?  There is no need in traveling down a road unless you are one hundred percent for sure that it's the exact road that you are willing to stay on.  You are going to have to have things in order to function properly and this will take time.  Use this time to make sure that this is truly your calling.  If you are taking a cut in pay to pursue this job make sure all of your finaces are lining up.  Saving a little each month to have while you get get used to your new pay scale will help.  It might be a bumpy ride at first, you might as well try and make it as comfortable as possible. Having a secure financial situation will give you added confidence you need to pursue your new career.

Take your time, be smart and be prepared.  Anyting worth doing is worth doing well.  Make sure your dreams are followed the right way.
