Make Flowers Quickly

From 3arf

Quick, it is time to come up with a great Valentines gift and it is down to the wire. What can you do  that will be fun, thoughtful and look like you have been thinking of this person for days to give just the right thing? These great little Valentines’ flowers are great solution.Supplies needed:* colored paper (red, pink, white)* 24 gauge wire* small beads* scissors* gold marker* florist tape* push pin* wire nippersEach flower will consist of five hearts (all the same size) each heart will have an inscription written on it. The sentimental part of the gift is truly the inscriptions. This is what makes the gift unique to the person who is receiving it. Lets look at some examples. For your big brother: smart, funny, happy, protector, teaseFor your best friend: listener, confidant, friend, perfect, funFor your teacher: bright, happy, creative, thoughtful, patientFor your neighbor: helpful, gracious, kind, easy going, fun lovingFor your sister: best friend, spoiled a little, kind, thoughtful, talentedFor your dad: strong, provider, loving , gentle, quietThese probably won’t work for you, but you can see how a little bit of thought and effort makes this flower an individual gift that is perfect for the one person and the personal relationship that you have with them.Cut out five hearts.Write a different  word on each of the five hearts.Use the push pin to make a hole near the pointed bottom of the hearts.Cut the 24 gauge wire about ½ longer than you wish the wire stem to be.Thread a small bead onto the wire. Put a twist in the wire so the bead stays in place.Thread the hearts up from the bottom until all the heart petals are flush against the bead.Arrange the petals and twist the wire to keep them in place.Wrap the wire with the floral tape. Decorate with ribbon.Create a bouquet with lots of great adjectives. For those who would rather deliver the flower in an envelope you can use the ribbon and bead to make the center of the flower. String the bead on to the ribbon. Move it to the center of the ribbon. Pull both ends through the hole and tie a knot to keep the bead in place. Both of these options work up quickly and with the right adjectives they make a very personal valentine. One clever teacher makes these every year for her students and must use a big thesaurus because there are no duplicate words used in the whole class.
