Legitimate Online Jobs

From 3arf

In today's economy, it can be very difficult to find a good job outside your home.  With unemployment rising every day in some places and stagnant in others, finding a job can seen next to impossible.  When this is the case, you may want to consider an online job.  However, you do have to be careful as there are many online jobs advertised that are not legitimate.  However, there are also many online jobs that are legitimate, and they are viable opportunities to make a good income.  The one thing to keep in mind is that most legitimate online jobs do not request any kind of upfront payment.  This means that most online opportunities that require any kind of upfront payment is probably not legitimate, but just because there is no payment required does not mean that it is legitimate either.  Keep this in mind when you are looking.

For those who truly want an online job working for a company, there are telecommuting jobs.  These jobs are real jobs where you "commute" to your office remotely from home.  You often have an office that you have to report to occasionally, and you are sent assignments through email or by phone.  You still have a regular boss, and you essentially still have to deal with office politics.  It feels more like a "real" job because it is.  To find these jobs, you will have to do a job search for telecommuting jobs.  Often to get one of these jobs, you may have to work in their office for a while first and be properly trained.  Do be cautious if they ask you to pay for training, however, as most legitimate jobs do not ask for any upfront payment.

Freelance work is another way of working online.  There are several freelance writing websites that will pay upfront payments for articles, as well as pay you for page views.  Doing this can take a little while to get started, while you build up your inventory of articles, but after you are well established, you can make a very good income.  Doing this is not easy and not for the faint of heart.  Be prepared to only make a few pennies your first few months until you get a routine established, but then, your earnings will start improving fast.  Some of the sites where it is easy to get a good start with freelance writing include Helium, Associated Content, and Constant Content.  Transcription is also a good freelance career if you can find offices that need it.

The important thing for you to do is to research whatever job you are looking into.  You will want to read online reviews, do searches for the companies that do not involve their own websites, and watch for any signs of a scam.  Signs of a scam include having to pay for anything, or a companies that you may have never heard of.  Always check to see how long a company has been in business before accepting an online job.  Take these precautions and you will find that an online job may give you opportunities that you never thought possible.
