Finding out that you are pregnant is the best news that a soon to be mom could hear. Well that should come second to hearing the grand proposal of a lifetime.
After having a beautiful and successful wedding ceremony you both are now hearing that your precious love has borne fruit is the leftover icing on the wedding cake. Well, somewhat! Having and expecting your first child should be a beautiful, stress-free event for the new mom. The expectant parents now have the task of searching and looking for all the right stuff and equipment the baby will need.
New moms-to-be should make a list of all the things the baby would need as soon possible. Most expectant moms can look forward to having one or two baby showers. If the new mom-to-be is working, she can expect a baby shower to be given by her co-workers and also friends and relatives.
Planning a baby shower should be a fun and exciting event for the mom to be. The expectant mom is likely to be a part of the planning unless it is a surprise baby shower.
Some fun things to consider would be to have a theme based baby shower. There are many different ways of choosing or deciding on a theme. You want it to be based around a central color? This would be the case if you already know the gender of the baby, pink for a girl or blue if it is a boy.
Other based ideas would be centered around an infant item or apparel such as a pacifier, baby bib or a baby bottle, there are many things that you may consider. An alternate idea or theme could be based around cartoon characters or other characters that children love such as Barney, Dora, Sesame Street, Power Puff Girls, Disney Characters, Animals at the Zoo, Dexter's Laboratory or Looney Tunes?

Baby shower games are much more fun since moms-to-be, godparents, grandparents, and other invitees at the baby shower will get to play fun games. Some of the more popular games that are played at baby showers can include Sing It, Baby!, Measuring up Mommy, Here's Looking at You, Kid!, Don't Say Baby, Baby Truth or Dare, The Seventh Gift, and Dig out the Pins.
These are a great games to play and they also allow your guests to mingle and get to know each other, if they are not already acquainted.
