Home Made Presents
From the moment when a new love enters you life, you often feel the need to celebrate those first days of happiness with gifts, actions or events. So after a month we celebrate the first month of connection, a month of dating or a month from the first kiss. Then those months turn into years and various anniversary celebrations, but it’s important not to take anniversaries for granted, and make an effort every time when buying a present. Here are some tips for home – made anniversary presents:
The first months are the hardest because you are just getting to know your partner and are not quite sure what would be the ideal present. All you know is that you want to be original.
- picture frame with your first photo taken together connected to another frame in which you put a poem, quote about love or a note
- treasure hunt – leave a message so your partner finds it and direct him/her to the place with the second message. That place can be where you first kissed or met. The last message will take him/her to you, to a place where you will celebrate your anniversary
When it comes to round anniversaries where you actually count days, not months or years, following presents are suggested:
- Print 100 messages with 100 reasons why you love your partner
- Inflate 100 balloons and put a love note and / or candy in each one
- Tell him/her I LOVE YOU in 100 languages
After a year of dating, you begin to count the years and months become less important. You reach a stage where you know what your partner likes and wants, but still want to be original.- fulfill a fantasy – Does your partner has a fantasy he once revealed to you? Does he / her wants his bed strewn with rose petals or a hot bath? Recall of common fantasies and make them happen.
When it comes to wedding anniversaries, there are the traditional gifts to give, and traditional themes that you can keep. Also, you can do the following:
- let the number of years to celebrate extend through the whole process of celebration. For example, for the fifth anniversary gifts buy 5 gifts of 5 pieces (e.g. 5 roses, 5 wooden candlesticks, 5 balloons, 5 favorite dessert, a T-shirt with the number 5), celebrate the anniversary for five days and go to another place each day.
- fill a small wooden or cardboard box with 365 text messages on which you have written love quotes, messages, or why you like your partner. Over the next year partner can read only one message per day, so your gift will last until the next anniversary.
- Remind yourself of the reasons why you fell in love with your partner and why are you still together after so many years. Write them in a scrapbook with photographs that accompany your shared life.
