High School Graduation Gift
A high school graduation is a monumental time in a person's life. They have passed from one big level to the next and deserve some sort of reward for such an achievement. This article will discuss how much money you should give for a high school graduation gift.
1. Your gift to someone graduating from high school depends on your relationship to them. Obviously, if you are the parents of the young person, you would want to probably spend more money than a high school mentor may spend. Any gift given should at least include a card and either a little spending money or some sort of small gift. If you are more closely related than others, then you should probably spend more on the gift than an ordinary person would spend. A high school graduation only happens once and you should make a big deal about it!
2. Find out the needs of the person graduating! If they are headed to college, offer them a reasonable amount of money to help them begin the next step in their life. This does not necessarily mean pay for their college schooling, but figure out an amount of money you can reasonably give and give it towards the college tuition of the graduate. This will be the biggest need and if they have a scholarship, then pay for their books or their traveling cost and if they have all they need, put some money in their hands and let them decide what to do with it. If they are heading to college without a vehicle, buy them a used car and give them their first vehicle. You have to determine what their needs are and try and meet their needs the best you can.
3. Give at least twice as much as you would give for their birthday if you are a somewhat close family member. The gift doesn't have to be monetary, but it should be at least twice as much as a birthday gift because graduation only comes around once a year as opposed to a birthday, which happens every year.
Graduation is a big event and should be treated as such, especially by relatives that would be considered close to that graduate. If you are financially able to give or even better you prepare for this event by saving a little every month leading up to this event, then giving to that person would be a great decision to help them celebrate this great day.
