From 3arf

Finding a place to celebrate New Years Eve in Las Vegas is as easy as entering the city limits. There is a party or an event for everyone for to enjoy. While the Las Vegas tourist guide lists 200 celebrations there are many more to choose from.

CELEBRATE WITH THE CELEBRITIES

  • Caesars Palace

Ring in the New Year with the former Baywatch blonde bombshell Pamela Anderson. Tickets start at $275.00 a person for general admission and include party favors and a glass of champagne. VIP tickets are $5,000.00 a person and include a private party room unlimited food and drinks. For that price I certainly hope Pamela Anderson will grace them with her presence.

  • Luxor LAX Nightclub

Spend New Years Eve with Paris & Nicky Hilton, general admission is $250.00 a person which includes party favors and a glass of champagne. If you would like dinner and a less crowed area to party get out your credit card because it will cost you up to $20,000.00!

  • Prive located in the Planet Hollywood Hotel and Casino

This celebration will be hosted and entertainment provided by Punk singer Avril Lavigne and Rapper Lil Jon the party starts at 8pm general admission price is $200.00 which includes snacks, champagne and party favors. This is the best "celebrity hosted" party for the price. However, if you flub up the dress code you will not be allowed in and no refunds will be given!

  • Tao

Hosted by Mariah Carey this luxury even will cost you $250.00 a person and includes a large assortment of Hors D'oeuvres and an open bar from 9pm - 11pm. Party favors and a champagne toast at midnight. As well as special surprise guests and a gift bag.

THE STRIP

  • America's PartyAs it is famously known plays host to close to a half a million people on New Years Eve. The theme for this years celebration is "The Best is Yet to Come" this party is free! The strip is lined with musicians, bands, street performer's vendors, food and even a few gigantic sized slot machines for a chance to win a million dollars. Party favors are handed out and when the ball, balloons and confetti start falling from the sky the crowd goes wild. In my opinion it is the best celebration only second to NYC Times Square event.

DOWNTOWN

  • Fremont Street Experience

Another well known area in Vegas that plays host to few thousand people each New Years Eve. The party officially starts at 8pm with an admission price of $60.00 which includes live music. This year's featured guests are The Doobie Brothers and The Bangles If a concert isn't your style maybe you're more of a thrill seeker and would enjoy The Riders of the Thunderdome and their "Death Motorcycle Show." If you don't mind watching it outside on a large screen you can see it for free. If you want to be up close the admission price starts at $45.00 a person.

All the local shops and food establishments are open for business, as well as additional food and beverage vendors set up on the streets. As the clock strikes midnight and the New Year begins a shower of colorful confetti rains down on the guests. When the confetti clears you can enjoy the fireworks and laser light show.

FOR THE LESS ADVENTEROUS

If crowds of people pushing and shoving and spilling beer on you is not how you want to ring in the New Year don't worry there's plenty for you to enjoy in Las Vegas on New Years Eve.

  • Casino'sEvery casino has a celebration of their own for their hotel guests and for the casino guests with televised screens to watch all the excitement, party favors and free drinks.
  • Shows

Take in a show there are hundreds to choose from. My two personal favorites are; "Mamma Mia" based on the hit songs from ABBA. You can catch this show at Mandalay Bay Hotel and Casino for $53.00 and up a person. My second choice is one of the longest running off-Broadway shows "Tony and Tina's wedding" is a heart warming, funny show beginning with the ceremony and ending with the reception. You can see this show at Rio Hotel for $90.00 a person.

  • Comedians

- George Wallace comedian/movie star you can catch his act at the Flamingo Hotel at 10pm prices range from $50.00 to $119.00.

- Louie Anderson at the Excalibur Hotel you can take in his New Years Eve show at 9pm for $60.00 a person.

  • Magic Shows

There is nothing quite like seeing a 500 pound tiger disappears in front of your very eyes only to reappear again on a walkway 20 feet about your head. Las Vegas is famous for the magic shows and there are plenty of them.

- David Copperfield performs at the MGM Grand this 90 minute show will amaze and entertain you. David Copperfield is the best magician in the United States with 21 Emmy awards to prove it. Not everyone can make The Statue of Liberty disappear the $97.00 admission price is well worth every penny!

- Lance Burton is another great magician he performs at the Monte Carlo Hotel. If you're hoping your significant other will "disappear" for New Years Lance is the man you want to talk to! Admission prices are $65.00 to $75.00
