Graduation Gifts for a Boyfriend

From 3arf

One common misconception is that it is difficult to find a gift, for any occasion, for your boyfriend. However, this is simply not true. There are many gift ideas out there that can be given to either male or female. Here are some ideas that may have, or have not, crossed your mind.

Electronics

Electronics are well-known possible gifts for men. Whether you are looking at a hefty price tag or you are deciding which CD to buy, electronics make perfect gifts because they are almost always sure to please. You do not need to know what size he is, or what color he likes, or even what style. All that you need to do is to first research the item (to make sure you aren't getting something that is defunct) and second, to know whether he wants that item or not. This is easy to do because you will often hear him say, "I want that" and "that" usually refers to something electronic. Listen closely, and this gift will be easy to find.

Dinner

A dinner, whether homemade or in a fancy restaurant, is a great graduation gift for anybody, including your boyfriend. First, you might want to choose a place that either has meaning for the both of you or a place that has great meaning for him. This doesn't have to be the case, however. You can choose a place that he has wanted to go to for a long time. Dinner is a great graduation present because you two can have time to talk. It's a vague way of taking him out on a date, but it is also a wonderful way to offer a type of present that is not necessarily material.

We're off to see...

Before your boyfriend graduates, ask him if there is a place he has wanted to go for a long time. It shouldn't be a place that is too far away or too expensive, such as Hawaii, but it should be a place that will interest both you and him. This could be a national park or a state park, or a local city's attraction, etc. If you want to keep it a surprise, look online for events that are happening in your city or town. Make plans for a whole day. You can start at noon, go to the attraction or event, and then cap the day off with dinner.

Just ask

If you don't have any ideas for gifts, just ask him. He will tell you exactly what he wants, and you won't have to second-guess him. Chances are, he will try to include you, too, so you might just want to get him a card first and then ask him what he wants. This is a very upfront way of handling the gift-giving situation, but it will cost you less frustration and you'll have to think less. Of course, you will have to weigh the consequences first: would you rather surprise him, or just ask him what he wants?

Whether you decide to take him to dinner, give him a material gift, or go someplace fun, your boyfriend will appreciate any thought that you put into trying to give him a graduation present. Don't sweat it, and if it seems that you can't make up your mind, then just ask for his input!
