Global Test Market Survey Site
For a few years now I have been a member of globaltestmarket.com and this morning was pleased to receive a cheque from them, which is what prompted this review.globaltestmarket.com is a survey site who send survey invitations to your email inbox, they can send you surveys on anything from recent car tyre purchases to your detailed thoughts about Chuba Chupps lollies.Joining is a very easy process, to begin with you just enter some basic details and then wait for them to send you an email confirmation where you need to click a link to validate your account. My youngest daughter signed up yesterday and waited a few hours for her confirmation email so don't worry if yours doesn't arrive immediately after joining. After confirming your account you will need to spend some time filling in various profile sections, this is to ensure you receive relevant surveys so don't be tempted to skip these as frankly if you don't complete them you won't get any surveys to complete!I recall I started receiving surveys very quickly after joining and my daughter had her first one today just 24 hours after joining, I like the fact that I don't need to keep going to the website to check for surveys as that process is too long winded for me. As it is I can see at a glance when I check my emails whether globaltestmarket.com have sent me anything and then simply click on the survey link in the email. The email will also tell me how many points I can expect to receive for the survey and come give an approximation of how long in minutes the survey will take to complete - these are never correct though and I've filled in a supposed 40 minute survey in 15 minutes and a ten minute survey can take half an hour! On a personal average I'd say each one will probably take you around 20 minutes to complete which I find is average for product and concept surveys. As with most other survey sites there are a few screening questions before you enter the main survey, I am very lucky in that I rarely get screened out although I have heard other people complaining about this issue when talking about globaltestmarket. For most surveys they send you will get 5 points just for starting the survey so to be screened out after half a dozen questions isn't too bad. One thing I will say is that if you do happen to be screened out then this happens quickly so you won't be 10 minutes into a survey before telling you that you don't fit the profile, I have boycotted Toluna for this very reason it annoys me so much but in my experience globaltestmarket are very considerate and fair in the survey length to reward ratio. On occasion I have received product surveys through the post, this will usually involve a short survey to check you qualify for which you will be paid the usual 50 Market Points. If you are lucky enough to be invited to take part in the product test you will be asked to confirm your postal details and you will usually receive your trial item within the next few days. After you have used the product for an allocated time you will be sent a follow-up survey which is usually shorter than I have been expecting, again you will be paid 50 points so the product tests are well worth signing up for. I have received generally mundane items such as toothpaste and bin liners but just before Christmas my daughter (who has also been a member for years and is of the same mind as me about the site) received six packets of nappies to trial on her now 22 month old and she has also tested quality make-up items.Rewards are paid via cheque and you can redeem once you have 1000 Market Points, the currency used on globaltestmarket.com. The site is based in the US (although you can join world wide) so when you cash in the amount of money you will receive will depend on the exchange rate, which is annoying for clueless types like me as I never know how much the cheque is going to be for! I remember going through a phase last year of cashing in every time I reached 1000 points and my cheque, made out in GBP, was usually around the £23 - £25 mark but this year I saved up and cashed in 3000 points and the cheque that arrived this morning was made out for £99.25. The mathematicians amongst us can do the 'go figuring', as my granddaughter would say!One thing worth mentioning here is that if you live in the UK it will take between 6 - 8 weeks for your cheque to arrive, in my experience the least amount of time you will wait is around four weeks but to be honest it's usually taken the full eight and sometimes even longer. Those of you who live in the US can expect their cheques much quicker, apparently within 3 - 4 weeks.Overall I think this is an excellent site, most surveys will bring you 50 Market Points although recently I've noticed a few for 75 points which helps boost your points balance nicely. I tend to receive and complete five or six surveys a week so although 1000 points seems a long way away it actually is very easy to achieve if you can commit the time and patience to filling in the surveys, sometimes you have to be quick though as the surveys can fill up rather quickly. Just this morning I clicked on a survey that I'd received just two hours before and I was directed to a page telling me the survey had already been filled, but more usually the surveys will remain live at least until the following day.I recommend this one, I really do. Over the years I have signed up to most of the survey sites but I have whittled it down to a core few that I have stuck with, the rest tend to get marked as 'Spam' after a few months when I get bored of the sites or if the cash out points starts feeling unattainable. globaltestmarket.com is a site I can see myself using for a long time to come as I think the rewards are generous, the surveys interesting and I think this is a company who are very fair to their members. And long may it continue.
