Getting help with Road Rage Anger Issues Road Rage

From 3arf

Do you drive with road rage? If so, perhaps you should have your health evaluated. Blood pressure and stress are the leading factors in road rage deaths. Anger management will only bring you so far if you are stressed and suffering from hypertension.

I will confess to a couple episodes of road rage in my younger days. I know now, losing my temper so quickly was due to high blood pressure. Still, the excuse didn't make screaming in the streets like a lunatic, right. I never physically attacked anyone, but I wanted too. Especially the younger drivers. The ones who zoom by so fast they fail to see they have forced you off the road and into a ditch. And to be honest, even when they did see you stranded in a ditch, they only laughed. This type of ignorance could anger the Pope.

Now that I am fully medicated and hypertension is under control, so is my occasional rage. If you have anger issues and find your self screaming at a fellow drivers because their driving skill does not meet your standards, check your blood pressure. After all, hypertension kills more people than road rage.

Stress and being in a hurry are two of most popular reasons people fight while behind the wheel. Some excuses are so lame and do not warrant physical violence, but it happens. He cut me off, she hogged the road and wouldn't let me pass. My all time favorite - I would have made the light, if he didn't drive so damn slow. Well, there's a reason to lose yourself in public.

I once had this boss who was about sixty-five. He was a nice old guy who was battling cancer. One day, he came into work with a black eye and broken nose. He was the victim of road rage. Some younger guy was in a hurry and my boss was driving too slow for his liking. From what I understand, he was actually doing the speed limit. Unfortunately this guy was in a hurry. At a red light, without any provocation, he got out of his car and began slamming his fist into an old man's face. At the trial, when the assailant saw the damage he had done to an older man suffering from cancer, tears of shame rolled off his cheeks. Now there is a memory he will be proud of throughout his life.

Anger issues cause abuse on many levels. Getting the right help whether through counseling or medication is essential. Whether you have blood pressure issues or not, anger in any form hurts your health. People living with anger are the first to have strokes and heart attacks. Angry people take years off their life-spans with their tantrums. A stroke can paralyze you, making driving and sometimes speaking, impossible. Wouldn't it be better to leave a few minutes earlier than making a fool of yourself?
