Christmas 2009 best Computer Games for Teen Boys
Christmas 2009 is looking to be a technological dream for teenagers across the world and a nightmare for their parents on a budget with the release of countless hyped video games on the market this holiday season for both the Sony Playstation 3 and the Microsoft Xbox 360. As with any Christmas season, there are always countless video game releases released at the same time in order to entice willing parents into buying them. In 2009 however, just what games are the most sought after for teenage boys, and what games should you purchase for them for Christmas 2009?
- Call of Duty - Modern Warfare 2
Modern Warfare 2 is the sequel to the best selling Call of Duty 4 that was a Christmas favorite in both 2007 and 2008. With so much hype to capitalize on, and so much advertising going into it and its non-coincidental release in mid November of 2009, Modern Warfare 2 is slated to be the biggest Christmas best seller on the video game market in 2009 for all ages.
Modern Warfare 2 will feature an advanced and evolved version of the first person warfare gameplay that Call of Duty 4 capitalized on, as well as furthering the unfinished story that came at the end of the epic game. Modern Warfare 2 is simply the most anticipated game of 2009 and as such, is destined to be a Christmas bestseller in 2009. Stocks are already scheduled to be sold out due to the level of pre-orders. If you want to give your teenagers a video game this year, pre-order Modern Warfare 2 while stocks last.
- Left 4 Dead 2
Left 4 Dead is a zombie-horror game for the Xbox 360 that capitalizes on the fun factor and importance of co-operative gameplay. The game was released in November of 2008 and quickly became one of the best selling games of Christmas 2008. The game features four survivors which have to tea together online or offline and work together in order to survive. The game also features the ability to play as the infected in order to kill the survivors and posed some of the greatest multiplayer action of the year.
Valve, the creators of Left 4 Dead, announced that the sequel to the game, Left 4 Dead 2 will be released in November of 2009 signaling their intentions to attempt to capitalize on a Christmas best seller yet again. Currently, Left 4 Dead 2 is one of the most purchased pre-orders on the Play.com preorder chart and much like Modern Warfare 2, if you intend to purchase this soon to be much sought after game for your teens this year, be sure to put your name down on a pre-order list or you may not get the chance to purchase it until after the holiday months.
- WWE Smackdown Vs. Raw 2010
WWE Wrestling's annual Smackdown video games are always a popular purchase for teenagers and they always prove to be a Christmas bestseller each and every year since the early 2000's. This year's annual Smackdown game is to be released in October of 2009 and much like its predecessors is expected to be a Christmas bestseller for young males as it features some of the most famous wrestlers in the world today including John Cena, Randy Orton, Batista and Rey Mysterio as well as some top name wrestling legends such as Steve Austin and The Rock.
WWE's Smackdown Vs. Raw 2010 game is to be released in October of 2009 which will give parents more of a chance to purchase this soon to be Christmas best seller in advance before the holiday months settle in. This is a welcome change as the majority of Smackdown games are usually released in November or December and supply is usually much lower than the insanely high demand around the Christmas months. Parents will likely be able to purchase this much easier than Left 4 Dead 2 and Modern Warfare 2 this Christmas.
Video games have been a favorite amongst teenagers for Christmas gifts for many years now and with the constant evolution of the standard of video games consoles, they likely will be for years to come. Christmas 2009 sees some of the most highly anticipated releases for a variety of different consoles, but if the popularity of the predecessors of the three aforementioned games is anything to go by, and in the video game world it usually is, Modern Warfare 2, Left 4 Dead 2 and Smackdown 2010 are set to become three of the biggest bestsellers for Christmas 2009.
