Chocolate

From 3arf

Chocolate ... just the mention of the word is enough to give someone visions of rivers of smooth brown silky liquid; slabs that tickle the senses with their aroma, or candy bars stuffed with nuts or fruit.

For those who want to give chocolate as a gift the possibilities are endless.

If you can get your hands on them, try Belgian Leonidas pralines. With their rich fondant, milk or white chocolate and creamy filling, they are the ultimate chocolate experience. They are a little pricey, but worth every penny.

From the same makers come chocolate bananas. Dried orange peels, smothered in fondant, shaped in the form of a tiny banana.

Then there is the ever popular Swiss made Toblerone. In its distinct triangular package, this creamy chocolate with its nutty flavour is sure to melt any heart.

For those who want to keep it local there are Lindt chocolate truffles. With thirteen flavours to choose from, these delectable mouth size balls of chocolate will have the receivers licking their lips.

Lindt also offers baskets with a selection of chocolates and seasonal packaging. Whether the chocolates are hidden in a beautiful Christmas ball or a Santa figurine, you are about to give or receive a quality gift.

Equally delicious are the Ferrero Rocher bonbons. This gold wrapped bonbon holds the promise of creamy chocolate, a delicate wafer and a roasted hazelnut.

Ferrero also makes the much loved Mon Cheri pralines. Each praline swimming in a tiny pool of cherry, encased in fondant chocolate.

Then again, maybe you would like to give something that is not only delicious but nutritious as well. In that case, try chocolate covered almonds, peanuts or raisins. All three are not only tasty but have a long list of health benefits.

For those with smaller budgets, how about some Junior Mints? These cute chocolate covered little mints come in an elegant box and are not only tasty but freshen mouth and breath.

Chocolate bars include the energy giving Mars, the nutty Snickers, the crunchy Twix, the smooth and soft Milky Way, similar in texture Three Musketeers, coconut rich Bounty, and many others.

Whichever variety of chocolate you chose, the gift is sure to please. In addition, chocolate is good for one's health. It is anti cancer, stimulates the brain, lowers blood pressure, is a cough preventer and is anti diarrhoea.

Most people don't care about the benefits of chocolate though. They love it because it tastes like nothing else.
