Careers the best Paths for Liberal Arts Majors
While traditionally liberal arts majors have been looked down upon, there has been a no resurgence of acceptance for the degree. Liberal Arts majors are now looked at by businesses as having a level of education superior to those that just have an associates or those that have no degree. While it isn't a specialized degree, the liberal arts major is still required to know a substantial amount of information on a wide variety of topics just like anyone else. The Liberal Arts major is also required to write papers, use intelligent thought, and go through many of the same issues as any other degree program, but rather than creating a focus, they chose to branch out. While I think most of these people do this in order to obtain a degree the fastest with the credits that they have, it doesn't have to be a waste.
In the world of the ever changing manager, many more companies are embracing those with liberal arts degrees, especially in areas where there is a low level of college educated individuals and generally not enough to fill all of the jobs in the area. This means that there are now more opportunities than ever for Liberal Arts majors, especially in the retail and hospitality management fields. While these aren't the most desirable fields to many, they provide a great amount of opportunity for advancement, especially since many of those in the field don't even have a college level education so they have to work twice as hard to learn the job, because they don't already have a grasp on key terminology that a graduate would have, even if they were in a general program.
While many of these management positions are somewhat entry level, after an individual fought hard and proved themself, they would have the opportunity to quickly move up within the company. The degree is going to stand out as a Bachelors degree next to any other Bachelors degree once you are in the company. The key is proving that you are capable of thinking at the same level as any other manager and beyond. If you can prove that you are capable of this, you could find that you are able to surpass those specialty management graduates before too long.
