Careers that Require two Years of College
If you don’t want to spend four years or more in a post-secondary institution learning what you need to know to get your career started, consider training for jobs that require fewer years for training. Community colleges offer many course programs that require two years or less to earn an Associate’s Degree or certification. From business careers, to media careers, to healthcare careers, you can get the training you need to start a professional career and earn the income you desire.
Journalists share information and education through their work, and a lot of the information people learn through journalists impacts how people see the world. Journalism truly is an art form that requires specialty training and practice in order to do it right. Journalists can make or break people’s professional careers with one review. Journalists also share important medical breakthroughs, report on crime, deliver messages of hope, and raise community awareness. Learning how to write articles, press releases, broadcast news reports, and other key media courses can be taught to eager media enthusiasts at community colleges. Journalism can be studied at four-year universities too, but community colleges can teach the same media skills and concepts in a minimum oftwo years.
Training for business careers can be done within two years at community colleges. Business marketing, accounting, administration, and more can be learned at community colleges without paying more than twice the cost to learn the same subjects at four-year universities. Studying business courses and practices helps to prepare people who are open to working for an employer, and it is also helpful for people who are considering becoming entrepreneurs.
If you love spending time with children and you wouldn’t mind earning money while you do it, consider training to be an Early Childhood Educator. Community colleges teach Early Childhood Education (ECE) courses and the programs are usually two years long. Early Childhood Educators can work in daycare centers, kindergarten classrooms, and even start their own daycare centers in a facility or in their own homes.
