We have a very close and loving family, we all chip in and do the things we can do for our family. I have one sister that is a cake decorator, in fact she used to own her own catering service. Her husband and daughter used to serve, so there you go. This is always the wedding gift from them. A free cake, one done by a professional, is the best kind of wedding cake! Best of all it comes with its own servers. I love to cook, I usually do the catering. We have all through out the years collected beautiful pieces and have everything you need to put on a wedding. My mother in law sews, does ceramics and decorates with flowers and bows. Here is where we can get any big pieces for decoration, our flowers, arch, and bouquets.... The list goes on and on. So the next thing is for you to decide who can do things for you as a wedding gift.
Of course you will want to shop around for the more expensive things for the best price AND quality. But with planning and help from friends and family, you can put on a great wedding for less. photographer is probably the most expense. Talk to them maybe they can come down on the price.
There are second hand shops that have some great dresses as far as wedding dresses,attendants,flower girl, and some have tuxes.
EBay is a great place for favors, gifts, and wedding cameras, and bubbles.
Believe it or not, dollar Tree has some great finds for decorating. Look in places you would least expect. estate sales, yard sales, flee markets and second hand shops.
Just remember to have fun it's your special day. It doesn't have to be perfect, just special. I can't think of anything more special or memorable than family and friends helping some one they love.
Make a list or who you know, that caters, sews, decorates, photographer, cooks, that is crafty and likes making things, good organizer, someone who has put on weddings and parties before, florist, someone who would love to help in any way. Ask, tell your family and friends this is what I want for a wedding gift. They will be glad to help. Don't be afraid to barter in the stores for what you want, THIS is your wedding, don't be afraid GO FOR IT!
