ALT-35 Worst Reasons to Marry
Possibly the very worst reason to marry is because you feel afraid not to do so. This fear may come in the form of family pressure or come from your intended. The problem comes when a person feels that they must please others and feel so pressured that that are unable to clearly see the enormity of marrying someone who they don't really want to.
At times, the pressure to do the bidding of others at the expense of your own wishes can seem like the only choice available. Unfortunately it is you who has to pay the price in the long run for making an unwise choice of 'legal' partner.
Once the marriage vows are made and the license agreed upon leaving the relationship becomes that much harder than it would have been had the relationship been left to fizzle out in it's own time.
The decision to marry should be agreed upon wholeheartedly by the couple involved and should be one based upon understanding, mutual respect and hopefully love. Where one partner is pressuring the other the respect and understanding becomes lost and love can start to dwindle.
Another unwise decision to marry is where a couple are already having problems but believe that marriage will bring them closer together. The truth is that once a problem exists it cannot be erased by a marriage certificate and it is more likely to get worse rather than disappear.
Other reasons to marry which can lead to an unsuccessful union are where one of the couple is basing their choice purely on materialism, where a couple marry just because they think it is time to settle down as they have been together for a while and where a couple marry in-order to have children but do not love or respect one another.
