Data entry jobs online a scam? Well okay, I will admit that yes, the ones you see on a daily basis just begging you to join them are 9 times out of 10 a scam. But there are some legitimate companies who do offer persons to sit in the comfort of their own home and do data entry work online working as an independent contractor and receiving their pay by some type of a piece rate or per job rate.
As a person who works in the comfort of my own home, the first work at home job I landed was a data entry position. Now these jobs are not going to make you rich quick nor may they even provide you a great paycheck every single week of the year. But assuming you do the research and find them, they do provide a great starting basis to get you working from home. Also, these companies will not ask you for any type of a fee to work for them. They may ask you to have certain types of programs running on your computer such as Microsoft Excel or certain accounting software but this will be provided in the job description so that you know ahead of time what to expect.
Another thing to take into consideration with data entry work online, as well as any other type of work from home online jobs, is that the number of applicants who are seeking these positions verses the number of positions that the companies have available. Although there seems to be more and more companies who are working their way to having people work from home doing data entry, customer service, transcription work, etc., the interest by job applicants is also increasing faster and faster and faster. After all, with the price of gas today, who can blame anyone for having an interest in working from home, right?
In summary, if you wish to find that legitimate online data entry job or online job in general, you will actually have to do your homework and search for these positions. It will take a little time to sort through and get past the easy to find scams but in the end, the search will pay off when you do find that legitimate one. Good luck!
