ALT-21 Best Ways to get Married on a Budget

From 3arf

There is little in life more exciting than the moment that you get engaged. The first thing that you will begin to do is plan the wedding that you hope will be your only one and will fulfill all of your wedding dreams. As you begin planning, however, you will probably see fairly soon that your wedding dreams and your wedding budget aren't quite lining up. Especially in today's rather strained economy, you are more than likely going to have to make some changes, but that doesn't mean that you can't have an absolutely beautiful wedding that you will remember fondly for the rest of your life.

One of the things that will drain your budget quickly are service professionals, such as photographers, florists, cake bakers, and music DJs or bands. Do you have any friends or family that might be willing to do some of the things that you would normally have to pay service professionals for? Ask if they can help you out, either free of charge, or at least for a discount. If they are professionals, it is good to offer at least a small payment to thank them and recognize their quality of work.

If you are getting married in the warmer weather months, why not have an outdoor wedding, rather than renting a venue inside? These are often the most captivating of settings, as you have nature doing half the decorating for you and there isn't much more breathtaking than that. The attire at outdoor weddings can also be less formal for both the guests and the wedding party without losing any effect at all.

Depending on how many guests you have, food for the reception can be an unbelievable expense. There are several affordable options that you may want to consider. You can have a coffee and dessert bar if you plan your reception away from a mealtime. There are also plenty of finger foods, such as sandwiches and veggie trays, that can be made quite affordably. If you are having a wedding that is primarily very close friends and family, you may even want to think about doing a potluck. You can provide a couple of hams and/or turkeys and have the guests each bring a dish with the recipe card attached for you, the new bride or groom, to use later on. This is wonderful if the reception is planned toward the dinner hour.

Unless you are someone who is into alot of keepsakes for the sentimental value, you can rent many of the items you will need for your wedding at a fraction of the price you would buy them for. Things such as decorations, attire, and even cake toppers can be rented for the day. This is a wonderful way to save money.

Your wedding day need not cost a small fortune to be absolutely beautiful. There are many ways to cut costs without cutting out the things that are important to you. Starting a marriage off with a load of debt is stressful, so start yours with a load of love and memories instead!
