ALT-1 What are the Traits of a Good Employer
Every job has an application you have to fill out, but anyone could answer those questions the same. For instance that lazy kid from english could have the same job oppertunity as the kid who has never missed a deadline a day in their life. So how exactly do you know what traits are the best of a good employer or employee. How would you feel if you got compared to the guy who never shows up on time, doesnt do their work, but you are always on time if not sometimes early, extremely organized, and know the value of hard work. How do you feel getting paid the same amout as the job slacker. I think employers reflect the traits of the employee. For example if you work for a boss who doesn't do the work they are supposed to do, they leave all the paper work for the assistants, and don't take their job seriously, then why would the employee work hard. People in a work place usually act as good as the worst manager. Thats the truth. So when looking for an employer, look for one who has the traits that you would portray in a work place.Punctuality- for instance if an employer calls you back for an interview at 8:30am, but yet when you get there they aren't ready. How does that make you feel. You were able to get up and be ready on time, but your potential employer couldn't that doesn't seem right. If you are the type who needs to feel like your boss takes their job seriously you wouldn't want to work for someone who can't get things done at the time they promise. The boss who tries to be your friend- Sure this is nice for lets say a part time job, but if your career boss tries to be more buddy buddy with you than guide you to get your work done, then how much do you actually achieve in the average work day. I'm not saying you need a manager with the personality of hitler.. not that at all, but someone who doesn't take you seriously won't have an advancement oppertunity for you. So you would remain in the starting place. You need an employer who values their job as much as you should value yours. This is probably your only source of income, so you need to work hard for your money, the harder you work, the farther you get in the work force. so good traits would be-punctuality-work ethic-does what they can to make sure everyone gets what they need-someone who will listen and value your opinion in the work force-equal oppertunity for men and women
if you work for an employer like this, chances are your work day will go smoother. Less stress at work leads to less stress outside of work. For many if they are stressed at work because of their boss, usually end up bringing their stress home. So less stress at work equals an overall better feeling at home.
