It does not matter what the job entails but being able to carry out work and make decisions in a mature and grown up manner is extremely important in the world of work. Teens will be expected to be able to remain calm and talk with people in a grown up manner that will ensure that the company's reputation does not take any set backs due to employing this member of the team.
  • Team skills. Some teens may not have worked in an employed setting before so their experiences of working as a team may seem quite limited but actually there are experiences all around a teen which can be drawn upon when they are working. Teens may be part of a sports team or a maths group or music band, whatever the activity if there is more than a two people taking part then it is classed as a group. If an employer is going to take on a new member of staff, especially one which is young, then they will be needing to know that they can rely upon this member to turn up on time, to carry out the tasks as required and to not be afraid to ask any questions they may have. It is important that when you look for employment that you realise the importance of being a reliable staff member.
