ALT-1 Top 10 Reasons why Men Buy Flowers for their Partner
As the old song goes, "Diamonds are a girl's best friend." Well, that may be true, but flowers are certainly a close second, and they stop in to visit alot more often. So, what is it that inspires the men in our lives to bring the beauty of flowers into our lives? The following are the top ten reasons that my husband (a stereotypical man) comes home with them in hand.
1-The top reason he brings me home flowers is just because he loves me. It is a special reminder that I still have his heart after years together. While they are sitting in their place of honor on my table, they say I love you every time I look at them. This is by far my favorite reason to receive the florist's handiwork.
2-On the opposite end of the spectrum is the "I'm a dummy" bouquet. This one shouts out apologies that I usually can't resist. They are how he tells me that he knows he messed up and is sorry.
3-When my husband recently came home with the Harley Davidson motorcycle that he was just supposed to be "going to look at", the flowers were received alongside my own personal helmet. Not being much of a "biker babe" so to speak, I enjoyed the flowers by far more. When a man makes an impulse purchase for himself, the blow is often softened by the gift for you alongside it.
4-A man will bring flowers to tell you he appreciates you or something that you did. As women, we spend a great deal of our time doing for others, so it is nice to see some appreciation once in a while.
5-They bring flowers to help us get well when we are sick, or at least they can make us feel momentarily better. Hospitalization is an almost guaranteed bouquet. A recent bout with cancer brought me a roomful of beauties!
6-When we present our husband with a new son or daughter, the flowers may come in droves. They are so impressed with our strength and the amazing gift of life we are presenting to them that they may even go a bit overboard for this occasion. But, we aren't complaining, right?
7-There are holidays galore that give men the opportunity to bring flowers. Valentine's Day, anniversaries and birthdays are almost guaranteed for the man with even the slightest bit of romantic notion in him.
8-Men bring flowers to put a surprise smile on our faces. A happy woman can lead to a happy man in many ways. Flowers have the power to energize us for spoiling them right back, be it with a batch of fresh-baked cookies or an intimate evening together. The payback for them is usually well worth their expense.
9-Congratulations flowers are nice to receive when in order. When I passed a state exam for my license to sell real estate, my then boyfriend made sure that I got a flowery welcome home.
10-Another of the best flowers are the ones that just say that they were thinking of you. Many times, this is the single rose that is picked by them at the beginning of spring. It tells you that you were on their mind and when they saw the beauty of the flower, they just had to share it with you.
No matter what the reason, I always appreciate the gesture that brings me a lovely bouquet or even a single bud. The way it makes me feel to receive this part of nature's beauty is amazing. Loved and appreciated, who could ask for more?
