Father's Day is an important event, and you can make it even more special if you live in Washington DC and have small children who will delight in devoting a whole weekend to dad. Mom, just think of all the things you and the kids can do this weekend to please that important man in your life! The list is long but we’ve shortened it to five.
On Saturday there’s really a long list for the kids but let’s be honest, wouldn’t dad get bored? After all, it’s his day but being the jolly good fellow he is, he will let the little ones take over. Don’t allow this mom. There are enough goodies in this Capitol City to please children as well as their father.
Look over this list and see which ones will be pleasing to all. Well, mom, sorry, you may have to forgo any activities for women only, but remember you had your day; now it’s his turn.
Learn About Bears
At the National Zoo kids of all ages can learn about bears, talk with zookeepers and have lots of fun. The Asia Trail and Bear Awareness Day begins in 10 in the morning last until six in the evening.
A Sing Along
Tuckahoe Elementary School in Arlington, Va. is where the family will enjoy singing tunes from Broadway to pop. Sing Books with Emily begins at 11 am. Oh, What a Beautiful Day it will be!

All ages will delight in creating art and hearing stories about Mark Twain. This is from 1 to 4 at the National Portrait Gallery.
Baseball history
The 10th annual Negro league Tribute Night begins at 6:30 PM at the Prince George Stadium, Bowie. The living legends will be there and will be signing autographs.
On Sunday, from 1 to 5, at the National Museum of American Jewish Military History, a father and son event, consisting of singing and dancing lots of nostalgic fun through skits, videos.
