4th of July
Independence Day(nicknamed the Fourth of July), is United States’ national holiday that honors the country’s Declaration of Independence adoption on July 4, 1776. Lots of summer-time activities will happen. Colorful fireworks, sweet aroma of barbecues, parades, and music galore during this huge day.
Decorating for the 4th is fun to do and doesn’t take a lot of time. Just think of America’s favorite colors: Red, white and blue, and it’ll be easier than you think. Whether you’re decorating your home, business, or a park, you’re doing so to express your gratitude for USA.
- Streamers
If you’re having a party at your own home, decorating, again, will be simple. One suggestion to give your yard a patriotic look is using streamers. You may wish to hang them onto the bushes around the house, and do so neatly. If your yard has any trees, you can let the streamers hang loose from the branches, or just wrap them around the tree barks. Be careful how you place the streamers, you don’t want them to be blown away.
- Solar lights
Another idea is using solar lights: Red, white, and blue ones. Solar lights are usually small, and they need not to be stuck through dirt. They shine brightly after dusk, and best of all, they don’t need wiring. Only solar batteries and some daylight are required. Some Internet and department stores sell solar lights with the right colors for the Fourth of July holiday.
You can place the lights wherever you wish. To give your guests a cozy welcome, place the solar lights along walkways or on a picnic table. If you’re fortunate enough to find lights that can be hung on a string, attach them from a tree and let them hang freely over your barbecue.
- Tablecloths and dishes
This step works for both indoors and outdoors. A tablecloth can be a picture of a great, big American flag. Plastic dishes, of course, can be red, white and blue. Serve them with your meals, and as a special treat, serve cupcakes with sprinkles and small flags stuck on them.
- Flags
This is the most important decoration of all: American flags. You can properly hang one right in your front lawn using a pole, and let it wave gracefully in the breezes. Another way is sticking small flags into the ground near the walkways. Make sure they stand up without being crooked.
