2010 Honda Pilot Review

From 3arf

I’ve decided to do something new with this SUVreview that I’ve been thinking about for a bit. Back in my Navy days, anytime I’d see a patient there was a standard form to taking notes called a SOAP note. This stood for Subjective, Objective, Assessment, and Plan. Basically, this starts with what complaint the patient presents with (S), then an objective observation of the patients vital signs (O), and after the data has been compiled a diagnosis is made (A) and a plan of action is implemented (P).

So first I’ll start with the published review subjectives.

1. “With interior space, a new muscular exterior, and a more powerful engine, test drivers say it's a great buy within its class.”

2. “Though trucky on the outside,Pilotis as car-like as any vehicle in this class. That's a good thing, as this Best Buy crossover's combination of performance, utility, and passenger accommodations make it worthy of a high place on your shopping list.”

3. * "Clearly,Honda'scustomers got what they wanted - a newPilotthat's still a compact 8-seater, but one that's more spacious, more fuel efficient and a bit more practical than before, all wrapped up in an angular new suit befitting a proper SUV." - Road and TrackObjectives

The engine is a 3.5L displacement single overhead cam (SOHC) in a V6 cylinder sporting 240 hp. The drive train consists of a 5-speed automatic transmission four wheel drive along with a full time 4WD rear locking differential. The audio is a AM/FM cassette in-dash single CD player stereo, with  7 total speakers and an  element antenna. The total cargo capacity of the2010 Pilotis an amazing 87 cubic feet. Enough room to pack the wife and kids for a two week journey using the big bags.

Assessment

TheHondaPilotstands out as a worthy suv with lots of features and standard package options that make it a good buy. Despite several other reviewers calling it a trucky vehicle, I found thePilotto be every bit as sexy as its higher priced competitors and stocked with great standard options.

Plan?

Go out and get one!  It’s a good buy for the money and will definitely prove to be as reliable as Hondas are getting to be known.

The bottom line is that the2010 Honda Pilotis one of our picks for best overall value and features in its class, along with theChevrolet TraverseandMazda CX-9. However, before you make your decision, you may also want to test out a newChevrolet Equinoxand aFord Flex. Both give the Pilot a good run for the money. But, in the end, I think you will come to the same conclusion that theHonda Pilotdelivers the ride, balance of features and style, comfort, room, and dependability that place it in the top 3 choices of its class.
