2010 Ford Mustang

From 3arf

In the world of iconic American cars there are few, if any, models out there with the long and storied past of the Ford Mustang. While it has faced stiff competition at times from models like the Chevy Camaro and various Chrysler products, no manufacturer has managed to keep a performance flagship like the Mustang on its sales books for as long as Ford.

Not that every model year of the Mustang has been a winner. Surely we can all just forget about the woeful Pinto based Mustang II from the 1970’s. No doubt Ford would also like us to forget that this particularly underpowered duffer ever existed as well.

But what about the new 2010 Ford Mustang that is slowly trickled onto our city streets since its early introduction in '09? Without a doubt this restyle features the widest array of models and most convincing turn of quality ever seen on the part of the Mustang brand.

In honor of this, what are five of the most convincing reasons to buy a 2010 Mustang? If history has been a guide, the most difficult aspect of this task will not be finding five reasons to buy a Mustang but more like being able to find five reasons not to.

1-It’s Bigger But it Looks Smaller : Even though the new 2010 Mustang is longer when measured by standard means, it appears smaller and more stealthy due to tricky styling techniques. The rear lights and bluff front end and angled more severely and give the new model a wedgy look that invokes the feeling of a stealth fighter. It also manages the unique feat of looking cool from every angle.

2.-More Power : The standard GT model is priced similarly to last year’s model but now has the same engine as the previous special edition Bullitt package. Horsepower and torque are raised substantially enough that any driver will notice the extra pull in each and every gear. The extra power is gained by a hi-tech cold air induction system that also manages to keep fuel economy at last year’s levels.

3-The New Mustang Doesn’t Need a Gas Cap : Ford pioneered this new technology and it makes you wonder why no one thought of this before. By specially designing a flap in the filler nozzle of every gas tank there is now no need for a gas cap. This will also save owners the possible embarrassment and financial waste of triggering a “Check Engine” light that happens when a person accidentally leaves the gas cap loose. Any triggering of a “Check Engine” light, even by means of forgetting the gas cap, requires a costly trip to the dealer to repair.

4-Who Needs a Convertible? : Available on every hardtop Mustang this year is a roof made entirely of glass. We all love the open air feeling of a convertible but who loves the added noise and loss of body rigidity? By ordering the glass roofed Mustang you can maintain the stylish visage of the hardtop and still enjoy each and every sunny day.

5-Check out that Interior : By far the biggest improvement this year is with the interior of the 2010 Mustang. While last year’s interior appeared to have been put together by drunk Rheesus monkeys out of plastics with all the tactile quality of Legos, this year the dash is the definition of positive tactile quality. Add in the option of Ford’s class leading Sync system and a Navigator/Music Hard-drive system and you have an interior any manufacturer would be proud of.
