2010 Ford Edge
The Ford Edge entered the scene in 2007, since then it has been one of the most popular models for Ford Motor Company. The Edge, just like other crossovers, brings versatility and style with great fuel economy to the auto industry. As far as changes to the 2010 Edge there has only been updates and tweaks.
Exterior Changes
The exterior really only has minor changes. Ford deleted the old black, silver, and Redfire colors to add a Tuxedo Black which has more of a metallic look. Ford also added a silver named Ingot Silver and changed the Redfire to a better looking red calling is Red Candy. These changes are very minor along with the Sport package having standard 20" Chrome-Clad wheel. Over all the exterior has remained the same.
Interior Changes
When looking at the interior Ford no longer offers a the camel cloth interior on the SEL. It is has been and still is a good looking interior so there is not much that should change until the new model comes out in the near future. The Edge interior packages have also had a face lift. The previous Blue Suede Interior Appearance Package is longer available and a Limited Interior Appearance Package is now available. The Limited package includes a unique Sienna leather trimmed seat which is a dark, brown color. The appearance package also has accented leather steering wheel and gear shifter giving it a premium luxury feel. In addition to the leather the center stack gets a dark brushed aluminum applique and Edge logos on the floor mats. The feeling a having a luxury vehicle without the luxury price is achieved with this interior.
Functional Changes
The model lineup remains the same with the SE, SEL, Limited, and Sport models. The trailer tow package however is no longer available on the SE. And theSyncsystem that Ford introduced with Microsoft as it's partner has upgraded to being able to have traffic, weather, and directions capability. When you elect not to have the available voice activated navigation system this new feature of Sync is standard with no payment for at least three years. When the voice activated navigation system is selected traffic, weather, and directions is replaced by the navigation system it self and Sirius Travel Link.
The 2010 Ford Edge is and has been a leader in the crossover segment. It's key competitors are the Nissan Murano, Honda Pilot, and Toyota Venza but the Ford still carries an advantage due to the bad media of the imports and Fords ability to weather the economic climate. It has an attractive price tag with the looks to go with it starting at a base MSRP of $28,195.
