Work at Home Opportunity Reviews Nhcdasi

From 3arf

National Healthcare Discount (NHCD), otherwise known as Affordable Services Inc. (ASI) sells medical, prescription, and dental discount plans to individuals who don't have healthcare coverage. They also offer a work-at-home opportunity, usually starting with the Lead Generator position. I joined NHCD/ASI about a month ago as a Lead Generator, even after I'd read a few negative reviews of the company on a scam-warning forum. Well, their Better Business Bureau report wasn't too bad, the angry person on the scam forum sounded like they were lying, and I was absolutely desperate for a work-at-home job, so I ignored all red flags and jumped right in. After listening to an enthusiastic phone conference about just how great this opportunity was, I paid my enrollment fee and signed up. Immediately, there was a bump in the road.

The Lead Generator position requires calling hundreds of numbers each day and rattling off a short questionnaire to determine if the person on the other end of the line is qualified for any of NHCD/ASI's discount plans. The most efficient way to do this is by using an auto dialer provided by the company, but people like me who have dial-up Internet access and only one phone line must be assigned a 1-800 number by the company's IT department. For some reason, it took over a week for me to receive my 1-800 number (by email, not snail mail). When I began calling the numbers on the call list, I found that most of them were either disconnected or left unanswered. This explains how a really good Lead Generator can "dial up to 100 numbers an hour!" as stated in the information provided by NHCD/ASI when you join. I soon learned that I really hate cold calling, and none of the fish were biting, so I quit. I really think mine is a worst-case scenario, though.

Here's how it seems to work out for other Lead Generators:They have high-speed Internet and a phone line, so they get the auto dialer and begin work right away. They're great on the phone and enjoy cold calling, so they're able to work a few hours a day and get a few leads. At $4.00 per lead, they make around $20 per day, if they're really lucky, really good, or work full-time hours (the average number of leads I saw people getting per day was 3, with an average ratio of 1 lead per 100 dials, or 1 lead per hour). In theory, you could get $32 per day if you worked 8-hour days with this position.

Some good things about working as a Lead Generator for NHCD/ASI:-When you join, you have the option of getting any, or all, of their discount plans at a reduced rate.-There are nice perks if you stay with the company long enough, including a complimentary prepaid cell phone with 150 minutes, renewed each month.-There is room for advancement in as little as 5 weeks.-The staff is often very helpful and cheerful.-You get to work from home and set your own hours.-You are paid every week.-You are providing a service that people may actually need.

Some bad things about working as a Lead Generator for NHCD/ASI:-You only get $4 per lead, at an average rate of 1 lead per hour, which means you only get paid $4 per hour (if even that much).-There's a monthly fee for using their auto dialer or 1-800 access number.-It takes two week to receive your first paycheck.

So basically, if you want to work at home, like cold-calling, and don't mind only getting $4/hour for a few weeks if it means you get nice perks, this is the opportunity for you. But, if any of these things annoy or bother you, you may not want to work with NHCD/ASI.
