When every Dollar Counts
Most people when shopping for a used car or even selling a used car find themselves in the vacuum of space, however it's not all that hard if you follow a few easy steps. First of all you have to ask yourself this, "Am I selling the car for a trade in value, or a friend needs the car more than I do, or maybe I just want to sell it so I won't have to have buy gas or insurance ever again." What ever the reason you should be able to do this without a headache. So the first decision is the crucial one, once that has been decided you can safely and easily take on the sale your self without the opinions of the entire free world. The first thing you will have to do is figure out what kind of condition it's in, poor, good, or excellent. If your car has all of the original parts and the paint is good, and if the engine has low mileage and runs well, you can consider it in excellent condition. There is a fine line between excellent and good when negotiating a price and the other guy will always try to talk you down. So look up the model and year of your car in the "Kelley's Blue Book" which you can find on line. As you look up your car there will be three price categories. The first is the trade in. The trade in is for those who wish to buy another car and want to get a deal on their new purchase, this price will be listed as let's say $1500.00 just to give you an amount, so you get that much of a trade in value on your car, but if you notice the retail price will be much higher let's say $2500.00. Now even though your car is worth that much you have to give the dealer a decent margin for profit when reselling your car, other wise he won't want to take the car as a trade in because he will loose money on the new car for allowing you so much towards your down payment. Then there is another reason lets say you need the money for what ever and you want your car to sell fast, this is the reason most people sell to a private party, because you want to get the most for your car but you will also want this third party to buy from you instead of the dealer. By under cutting the dealer by a couple hundred you keep a persons interest in your car alive.
Private third party sells are the best way to sell your car and get the most bang for your buck. For one the convenience of not being pestered by those wonderful sales men/women. Most people can't stand a pushy sales man, and thats a point for your team, so what price should you ask? Well how about $300.00 lower than the dealer? You see even though you would settle for much less, you shoot a little hi for the reason of allowing the customer the chance to "Haggle" the price down, people just love doing that, so let them have their fun. Make sure you have your fun too, by having a set or "Firm" price in your head as the least you will accept for your car, let them know that they drive a hard bargain so that they will feel like they got the deal, as you walk away with just what you wanted .....Hard cold cash. Knowing these tips alone will allow you to return home with the right amount for your car, (something most people can't do) and just think of how you will feel now knowing you have the skills of any car salesman, it's just this easy. Don't ever take a back seat to the people who try to get one over on you, because these days every dollar counts, now go and count your dollars, the ones you earned with the knowledge you have.
These days the web offers many things to help a person take care of things they normally wouldn't be able to do. Most people would allow themselves to be ripped off just for the sake of not having to find the facts for themselves. This article is written to allow some of those people a chance to see just how easy something like selling a car really is. The more you utilize your computer as a thinking tool the more you'll find that a lot of the once impossible tasks are now within your reach, life will more than likely take on a new feel when your in control.
